As a way to show an appreciation and gratitude towards our tirelessly hard-working figures in Music Industry, Sun Fm presents to you Kwacha Music Awards to be held on the 30th September, 2023 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre. KMAs Ceremony is an event held annually to celebrate and recognize the achievements of artists and performers in the Zambian Music industry.

These awards are highly anticipated by fans and professionals alike, as they showcase the best of the best in the music world. There are several prestigious music awards that have the power to shape careers and establish artists as true legends, Kwacha Music Awards being one of them.One of the most prestigious music awards is the Kwacha Music Awards.

Established in the late 20th century, the Kwacha Music Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry. The KMAs honor artists in various genres such as Hip Hop Rap, Afro, RnB, Kalindula and many more music genres.

Winning a Kwacha Music Award is considered a lifetime achievement for many artists, as it symbolizes recognition from their peers and industry experts, though these days it has lost value following a backlash as most people started questioning the criteria they use to nominate artists in various categories while leaving out the important figures in the industry who worked hard for it. KMAs Pioneers need to explain the issue of Nominating only big names from Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces leaving these other 8 provinces to compete for 1 category (Best in that province) respectively which paints an unfair picture.

This Award show has gained a reputation for its memorable and often controversial moments. Especially the most recent one which occurred last year which saw off Chile 1 Mr Zambia winning 4 Awards he didn’t deserve as a way of the Zambian Disciplinary Committee showing displeasure with Yo Maps who deserved to win the awards in all categories he was Nominated, the KMAs have become a platform for artists to showcase their creativity and push boundaries.
